Type of paper

A group of papers specifically designed for easy stripping from or nonadherence to tacky surfaces. The types vary widely in from glassime or vegetable parchment to kraft papers and paperboards all of which are usually treated with a release agent such as a silicone, fatty acid metal complex, or acrylic polymer. Release papers are used for packaging wax, asphalt, rubber, certain foods as backing for pressure sensitive tapes and labels, and as casting surfaces for plastic films, etc.
